Security Council is one of the United Nations organs which have great power for solving any threat to the world peace. It is because of United Charter itself (noted in chapter V and many other articles) that given member of permanent Security Council privilege to maintain the world peace. Yet, the question is, does security council really effective to maintain the world peace? Because if we looked to the facts that happen Security Council itself which sometimes ruined world peace. For example in France case that was permitted to carried on a brutal counter guerilla campaign against Algerian Nationalist in what was once French Algeria. Indeed, in the diplomatic world, many thought of that rebellion and the French response as a French internal affair not subject to international security.[1] That’s only one problem that Security Council has made. Another example is for the resolution 1747 about giving sanction to Iran because of it’s nuclear program. Hamid Reza Hajbabai said that that’s resolution doesn’t scared Iran much. It’s because of dependency of the members of the permanent Security Council itself to Iran. They are Russia, China, and France. They need Iran as their trade partner for oil particularly. USA therefore could not do anything although he shouted to give sanction to Iran but in fact, three other members would help Iran for this case. So that’s why I said that UNSC is not effective. As long as there is interest within the members to one case, they would concern for their interest than their task to maintenance of international peace and security in that case. Hence, we need any other organs that can supervise Security Council when they do their tasks.
